but the sickness doesn't care.
You were taken too soon;
The only two that mattered.
The gravest injustice in loss
is health.
Scaffold finds new heights
and I paint the sky to
feel closer to my sorrow.
Below, the ground laughs in knowing;
Another meal consumed.
So I take a leap from grace
in attempt to see your face
only to meet the flagstone under
which you're concealed.

I have no idea where I am or how I got here. I do know it's cold, and I'm so very tired. Watching this rope I've been dangling from, unraveling a little more every day. Finally realizing the dark truth; sometimes holding on is harder than letting go.

A strip of light peeked from the bathroom door, pressing over her exposed body. She lay waiting on the hotel bed. Her body weightless, and mind to the air. The man she paid was preparing himself on the other side.
She was done with the motionless life of her cubicle, done gazing at the intangible stars. She only wanted to meld with the rapid city, its bustling streets, and neon ridden backdrop.
As it was happening, she savored the bounce of the springs, the hovering heat, the feel of her flesh under the lifelines of a stranger. For a short time, she could move with the rest.

Again, I am not this dark nor in a bad place. I love Halloween and I feel like writing a bit darker than usual. I am currently reading a book called, Shadow of Night, in which one of the characters, before being turned into a vampire, loses his wife and son and tries to end his life by jumping from some scaffolding.
